I recently purchased an Acer Aspire One netbook that came loaded with windows 7 starter. No installation disk came with the product.

To get rid of all the unwanted programs that came on it, i formatted all partitions of the hard drive, relocated them into a single partition, and used the windows 7 home premium disk that i purchased for my desktop to reinstall windows.

Pretty stupid move, because now i'm running home premium with no way to get starter back on there, and i don't have a valid home premium product key. When I enter my Starter key into the validation window, it tells me to 'either run windows 7 setup or enter a valid home premium product key.'

Two questions. One, what does it mean by 'run windows 7 setup'? Is this some way to choose which edition of windows.
